ICICI, a leading name in the financial sector in India, faced challenges with their app management, particularly related to licensing costs and limitations within their existing technology environment.ICICI sought a solution that would enable them to streamline processes while maintaining high service standards.

Challenges

ICICI faced significant hurdles in app development within Microsoft Teams. Their primary challenge was the need to minimize licensing costs while still ensuring efficient app functionality. The SSRS reports were incompatible with PowerApps within Teams, forcing the team to rely on Power Automate for report generation. Additionally, the inability to use Premium connectors for app development further complicated the creation of a complex approval system. The app needed to be developed with as few resources as possible, keeping licensing costs to a minimum, while ensuring that all essential features were included.

OUR SOLUTIONS

Array's solution focused on minimizing costs while meeting ICICI's needs. We developed the app within Microsoft Teams using Power Apps for Teams, which included Dataverse for Teams at no additional cost. This ensured that ICICI avoided extra licensing fees. For report generation, we used Power Automate to bypass SSRS limitations, enabling seamless data access. The complex approval system was implemented through Power Automate without Premium connectors. Access control was simplified based on user roles such as Line Manager and Business Owner, ensuring smooth workflows within the app.
